New PBT keycaps: The Teleport

In search of a nice PBT keycap set in 100% ISO-DE layout, I came across a black on black Teleport set. Here’s a comparison with the Keychron ISO-DE set.

Trying an 80% keyboard

After getting the keychron Q6, I noticed that I started putting the keyboard in a different place on my desk. Don’t ask me why, I don’t know. I move it to the right by about 10cm compared to my old board, which forced me to rotate my mousepad to a vertical position which messed up the whole desk. So I tried a smaller TKL keyboard layout for the first time.

Read the fucking manual! Sometimes it helps.

When I tried to program the microphone button on my Q6 keyboard with VIA, I ran into an issue I could have easily avoided if I had read the first few pages of the provided manual. Since I hadn’t, this took me about two hours and a reddit post.

PBT keycaps for the Q6

The original keycaps of the Q6 keyboard I recently bought were not very much to my liking. While typing on them was okay and the overall experience was definitely a huge improvement over my old keyboards, the keycaps bothered me every time I looked at them.

So I bought my first “professional” keyboard

Last week I took a deep dive into the extravagant world of custom mechanical keyboards. My interest was sparked by an open space slot by some keyboard enthusiasts at work in which I had the unexpected opportunity to try a bunch of different board/cap/switch combinations. To say the least, I was instantly hooked and wanted to have such a nice keyboard for myself. I went with a Keychron Q6 and here’s my journey to that decision and my first impressions.
